ok here you're looking at a piss poor diagram of what's underneath the shift shaft cover, you know, that cover at the front that points slightly downward.
ok number one is the shift shaft, pictured without the spring.
it has a lever off it (that piece going down towards #2) then 2 is a little pin thing, that limitsthe travel of the shift shaft.
#3 is a piece that springs up and down, seemingly to allow the pin (2) to go over under certain conditions.
my q is WTF do #2 and 3 do? the transmission seems to shift fine without the pin in that lever. and with the pin out the piece #3 is redundant right?
say #2 and #3were to be damaged, os the pin is no longer in and the piece no longer can retreat into the case.
is it screwed then?[/img]
