  • 282 gear ratios, so many different versions...

How many different gear sets did the 282 have? Im just curious because I want to rebuild this quad 4 282 (3xTx) later on but the 5th gear is gonna be insane for highway driving as it sits. Im also thinking that 1st should hold out longer. I dunno what vehicle ill throw it in but its gonna have a 3.4 DOHC behind it most likely. If we can get some good figures posted ill throw them on the site as well. We really need more trans info here

So im guessing I can delete the ecotech and twin cam correct? Or are those still using the 282? Also, I thought the W41 got the .72 5th gear. Does anyone have the RPO or Trans code for these? I know there is 3XTX and 4XTX but thats about it, and I dunno if there is a difference with them or just an updated code.
