GETRAG 284 5spd manual into 96 3100 Monte Carlo

how hard would it be to swao the GETRAG 284 5spd manual transmission into the 3100 odb2 monte i have. Will it bolt right up to the 3100? I know i will need someone at dhp which know to program my odbII pcm for it. i know i ill need the clutch pedals and all that but what else will i need? thanks i dont want to downgrade the pcm to odb1 or get a stand alone pcm so reprogramming the pcm is the option please let me know thanks

isnt the 284 for LQ1s only

It will bolt up to any 60V6. Not sure if the gearing is what you want but you can do it. Its pretty much the same amount of work as brian did for his 94. You will want to swap out the firewall plate for the clutch hydraulic mount. As long as DHP will program it for the manual, that is fine. I wouldn't consider OBD1 a downgrade though if it does come to that.

yeah i think OBD1 is better leaves more options for tuning

Well, DHP can program OBD2 but for someone to tune the car themself, its not practical.
