2.5L S10 trans w/3.4L?

Looking at a '89 S10 with a 2.5L and 5-speed to use as a possible donor for a kit project (Stalker V6). It's from an impound place that knows nothing about it other than it's a 4 cyl and 5 speed.

Would this be a T-5 tranny? If so, will it bolt up to a Camaro 3.4L, with or without modification? I've tried to piece together the info from various sources, but mainly ended up with a headache!

Yea it will. Your good to go. But if you want a more stout T5 then look for one behind a 1993 to 1995 Camaro. Or a 92-93 S-10. They are WC T5's which are stronger.

I've had a 4cyl T-5 (an early one) behind my hybrid for over a year, it was used when I put it in, and abused even more now, it's still holding up fine, so you will have no problems mating it to a 3.4.
