hi i was looking at the transgo shift kits correction packages.. has anyone ever installed one of these? if yes. how deep in the trans do u have to go? u think its ness 2 do it? its for the 440T4 trans.. this is wut it fixes

Corrects/Prevents/Reduces: 2nd clutch failure: 1-2 slide bump; late or no upshift; Lockup shudder: kickdown bang; soft shifts when hot; accumulator leaks; 3rd clutch seal failure.

or do u think on a 1990 trans they corrected these problems? or a 92 b/c i know my 88 has these problems or do u think these problems stayed in all yrs?

yea they all have those problems. the shfit correction package is more like a shift kit. it fixes those problems and gives you a more firm shift. we install these at the shop i work at. most only need the valve body pulled, but im not sure if you have to go in farther with the 440t4.

if you dont have an absolute understanding of how the 440t4 works, and dont have the proper hydralic dyagrams, i wouldnt attempt it yourself. i would take it in to a shop and have them put it in for you. should only take a tranny tech a couple hours at most to install.
