Okay so i swapped in a 3400 into my Grand am and a 5 speed 99 cavalier transmission. Using a 97 grand am engine harness, a milzy motorsports 3400 performance tune on the 97 3100 PCM, and a dash harness from a 96 or 97 2.4l oldsmobile achieva as i did an achieva dash swap. Originally a 2.4l manual transmission car and the achieva dash harness worked with it fine before the 3400 swap. Everything is good except i have to hot start it at the starter directly, when using the key it acts like a car with the neutral safety switch not sending power to the starter. Just nothing. It doesnt even have a neutral safety switch(just the one at clutch pedal), i connected the large purple wire(to starter) and large yellow wire(from ignition switch) of the neutral safety harness together and still nothing! I thought that would have bypassed it, what am i doing wrong? are engine harness to dash harness wire connectors different between the 2.4l and 3100 harness? they connect together fine.
Also all auto transmission codes were deleted off the PCM when tuned
