  • Do 2.8l & 4.3l 4x4 Trans Have Same Output Splines?

Hi, I'm considering a LQ1 RWD swap since Ive never seen one done yet & have missed my old LQ1 ever since it ate itself around 10 years ago .

My question is this, does anyone know if the S10/Sonoma/Blazer Output splines are the same between the 2.8l transmissions & the 4.3l ones? Specifically the reason I ask is because I'd really like to build a 4x4 Blazer 90-93 with an LQ1 in it, but I can only seem to find S10s with the 2.8l after 1990, when I'd really like a Blazer (extra seating/cab space). Is there any relatively cost effective way to bolt a 2.8 4x4 s10 trans to a 4.3 4x4 blazer transfer case. I'd really like to use a T5 if at all possible (I know its not that strong of a trans but I imagine it should handle 3.35l just fine).

Any advice/knowledge that might help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

Spline count can be 21 or 23 spline. 23 was late model so it could be a year thing. Jeeps also used the NP231 like the S-Trucks so there is lots of sources.
