Hello ,
First post here , but been around for awhile.
Anyway ,
I have a 1996 Monte Carlo w/3.1 & the 4T60E trans , and 185,000 on the odometer.
Every since I got it(a month ago) , when I take off it will shift quickly from 1-2 , 2-3.
Once highway speeds are reached it shifts to OD as I would expect.
Then , when I slow down to come to a stop it won't shift out of 3rd until I come to a stop.
It had a P0742 code when I got it.
I replaced the TCC solenoid & the PWM solenoid. Cleared the code , drove , no improvement , no more code.
I did notice while replacing the TCC solenoid that the valve did not push back on the solenoid as it did on the PWM solenoid. Could this be the issue , a stuck valve?
If so , how do I get it unstuck?
Did filter change and found no clutch fines or any other obvious bad surprises.
Any ideas?
Thanks for your input ,
Larry
