I've been having a stretch of bad luck lately with my Monte, the trans blew out on me last week, and well basically, I only have first gear. I want to pull the engine and trans out as a whole and I want to do it from the top, can someone give me a list of things that need to be removed and where they are? From what I hear its only about a 3 hour job. Thanks guys.

Easy to drop out the bottom. Pulling out the tops a pita. The amount of time you will waste pulling the axles and exhaust you could already have it all on the ground on a 4 wheel dolly.

Damn. Starting to wish I would have done that now. From what I read its too much of a pain on the ass to pull the subframe without a lift so that's why I'm doing it from the top. Plus I have a Michigan car so I was worried about the bolts breaking. Oh, by the way, that z34 you have there is badass. I bet you get a lot of looks with that supercharger sticking through the hood lol.-1997 Monte Carlo Z34. 1997 LQ1 with 95 cams, paired with a freshly rebuilt 4t65e. Still working out a few problems but its good to have it back after 4 months!

Out of all of the w bodies I've worked on, you shouldn't have any bolts break.
