Update: Went ahead with the install as my dad was getting tired of me using his truck(as was I). Car is running fine but like was said, the shift points are low. Not so much that is causes a problem other than being a little sluggish perhaps.

Car is going into overdrive and the tc is locking up just like it's supposed to. Should the fact the fdr is different with no change in ecm programming cause any longevity problems?

unlikely. unless it starts acting up again, you're probably in the clear.

i don't know how complex the earlier PWM 4T60E programs were, but if you're not getting a TCC slip code(along with a disabled TCC and possibly 4th gear) or anything like that, i don't see it being problematic for the PCM.
