Heres the issue Ive had as of late. I had a Getrag 284 which had no 2nd gear synchro. This led me to get a rebuilt 284, and swap that in, along with a new clutch. Since on the old clutch, the pressure plate broke around the throwout bearing. Long story story, got everything installed in the car. When the car is off, it shifts through every gear great. However when the car is running, wont go into any gear at all. When you try and put it in gear, car just lurches forward. When you start it up in gear, car wants to take off, however you can put your foot on the brake, and hold to the car, and it will not stall. I took the hydraulics off the car, rebled them, only to find the clutch master was sucking in air. Got a new clutch master and installed that, bled it, no air in the lines, installed it, and pedal felt much much better. Sadly though, it didnt fix my issue. I pulled the motor and trans again today, and found that somehow one of the mounting tabs was not flush with the block. I dont know if the whole trans was off by just enough that it would only allow the TO bearing to move a certain amount then bind up or what im not sure. I seperated the trans and motor today, cleaned up all the gunk and both mating surfaces, put then back together, now the motor and trans look good. no weird spaces no nothing. Im getting ready to install it again tomorrow and see what happens.
Does anyone else have any insight on this issue? Any and all help would be great.
