  • 4t60-e tcc replacement

I'm going to replace the tcc in my 4t60-e trans this weekend. its in a 1995 grandam with 3100. does anyone know of a way of doing this without pulling the trans out off the car?

    thanks in advance

if you are replacing the tcc (torque converter clutch) then you are replacing the converter, and the tranny has to come out. but if you are replacing it, there must be a bunch of tcc matterial in the pan, and through the entire tranny, and will need to be rebuilt.

do you mean the tcc solenoid???

I would really like to know how to do this also. Please tell me the Trans doesn't have to come out to change the solenoid!!!

Over $12K invested, and still its slow. Maybe thats because thats most all repairs. Don\'t knock the engine though, because thats the only part that has seemed to last.

          hmmm
when i did my 93 gp 3spd auto this spring i did not have to pull the trans but it was a PITA. there are a few threads at w-body about this. there are also instructions at one of the beretta sites on how it was done in a beretta with the 3spd auto.
the GP was dif than the beretta as there was a shield/brace that was in the way and had to come out. tough to remove and as tought to replace. took a couple of evenings to do this. about 4 hrs each night.
but it was done without dropping the trans.
here are some pics of that project
