To make a long story short, I forgot to put that o-ring in there. I installed a brand new input shaft seal, but forgot the o-ring that goes in the groove in the input shaft. How important is this o-ring, and can I get by ok without it? (Engine and trans are already sitting back in the car and axles installed, so is this worth the effort to pull it all back out again to install?)
I believe I read somewhere, but can't remember where atm that this o-ring was just a secondary seal to help prevent the input shaft seal from leaking, and is important in high performance applications? This car is completely stock 3.1 v6, nothing high performance about it.
