  • TOB slide broken

So pulled my trans to check out the clutch. The disc has a lot more material left than I was expecting, but it's toasted along with my flywheel and pressure plate. So I'm thinking i'll take it to a local clutch shop and see what they can do for me. If not, will be getting myself a new 6 puck.

Anyways, so the reason for this thread is while I pulled the trans I found that the throw out bearing slide is no longer attached to my trans.. I remember reading somewhere of the same thing happening but I cant remember where. Just seeing if anyone has a suggestion for what to do to repair.

Here's a picture of how it's supposed to look. The slide that is circled is no longer attached on mine.

PS- i stole the picture from woody's build off bnet. Thanks man.

Found that woody was looking for it. It's part of the seal. GM Part # 8672128. Anyone happen to have a new one?

I see you have a different GM part number but it appears to be the same part I am making.

Thats pretty sweet that you'll be making a replacement. I'm sure that will make some happy since the Autozone Rebuild kit that comes with this part is over 200 bones IIRC

That's one of the part #s for that part. It's the most recent of the ones I found, and is the one that my dealer brought up. I saw on your site that you planned on having one made in 2012.. but I couldn't wait. I found one locally for $80 with a new d-tent cover. Was just about to buy the entire kit from autozone.

Just to update, he has these in stock now if you need to replace your input bearing/slide/seal.
