4T60e shift pattern mod question

As most of you know I run a 95 achieva with a 3.4. In this car GM was so nice to offer me a D, 3, 2. on my shifter. no 1st gear. I recently purchased an optishift trans computer and modified a position sensor to work with it. I am curious if I can grab a valve body and shifter from a W-body 4t60 and swap that to my trans and then be able to manually shift through all 4 gears of my automatic? I may have asked before, but my mind is a garbage pit since i started my shop and I'm having a hard time remebering the day.

IIRC, certain N-bodies had all 4 positions available, so you may be able to go that route. that way you're not risking running into part incompatibility issues.

Either or, but yes you really only need the notched gear selector thats in the trans to my knowledge, the rest of the internals are the same... your's and mind are just lacking that 1st position that the W-bodies have, so that in conjunction with the floor shifter, and a range switch that will see 1st postion to tell the ECU then it should work.
