I finally finished the 5 speed swap in the monte. Im have numerous computer problems ive already solved. Today my alternator shit the bed and then my optima would not take a charge. Then with new battery going down the high way i see me low oil light come on. My oil pressure sensor ruptured and blew 3 quarts of fluid all over my car. I have a spare but had to make a 12am hour round trip ride to get my spare. So I solved that topped her off and on the way home only in 5th gear at low rpms under load is making a really bad noise that it wasn't before. Any ideas what it is and what i need to do to solve the problem.

at say 50 mph at like 1500 to 2500 under load you hear a noise like some one going shhh but sounds metallic but only in 5th gear goes away at 65 does it more hot

Also I cant swing 2 to 3rd at wot i have to let off on the gas then use the clutch to get it to go in order or it will get stuck in 2nd even tho you can move the stick side to side in neutral poison your stuck in 2nd and you have to pul it back ward to 2nd position it will cluck and then you can go to 3rd but that point you have already lost.

She said it was good but i drove the parts car 6 hours home and it did once mis the 2 to 3rd wot shift. There is one in a jy near me that had a timing belt failure.

I would be calling the yard for a price on Monday, but that's me. The rarity of these transmissions is why when I tear the 91 apart and scrap the shell is exactly why I'm keeping the tranny, despite me blowing the 2nd gear synchros. I might try to pull it apart some time, or take it to a tranny shop and see if something can be done about it and put it on a shelf as a backup.-60v6's 2nd Jon M.
