Quad 4 -> v6 tranny

Is there anyway I could use my 1990 Quad 4 GTZ HO tranny and just swap belhousings with a V6 tranny and use it? Because Ive got a perfectly good transmission, and it shifted very well before the motor blew. I know the gear ratios are very similiar, so Im thinking that this could work.

yup. thats all you need to do really. just swap front case halves. i'd check the proper shim in behind the diff bearing.

in a 90 GTZ the ratio s are the same if its a regular Getrag trans such as a J/L body one.

Yeah its a normal tranny, this should make my 3400 5 speed swap a bit cheaper.

Should compliment my bilstiens, eibachs and poly upgrades that I'm currently doing nicely.
