  • Limited slip for getrag 282?

Hey Im having my trans rebuilt next month and id like to throw an LSD in. What do I have to choose from? I remember there being like 3 or 4 different ones but the only one that comes up on google is the ep LSD.

i think superdave had a team-green insert before he just welded himself a locker...

the Team Green one was cheap and it worked to an extent but i found a little too many metal shavings on the magnet after 1K miles for my liking.

the EP ones are nice but pricey, and don't weld the diff unless it's a track only car.

Is the ep one pretty good? I'm willing to pay for it if it's a good product.

I ran a Phantom Grip a long while ago. It worked.

PG and TG are same concept with sharing of similar design. EP is a little more involved due to better supporting parts in conjunction of the lsd diff. More money, slightly better product, life of them all are same... Hit and miss.

The general concensus is around 20-27 total (7-14 1991 / 6 1992 / 7 1993). Most were never registered so it really is hard to track. They were also available off the shelf for $1650 in the early 90s. The quad gurus guess there are at least 100. I have one and half heartedly put it up for sale on the quadforums.
