"it wouldnt have been worth it to pay a shop to do all of this. " You left out the "for me" part. Thankfully, hundreds of people consider it to be "worth it" to pay me to repair their transportation devices.

your right it was to much for me to pay. the car has 250000 and has been really good until 220000 then things just keept going out. So I guess I saw this as a good time to try to get on top of some of this maintenace. I changed so many parts that unless I knew someone at the shop the labor alone would have been more than the car was worth, and if your like me I could go get another work car but it would be used I wouldnt know the history of the car and its kinda a gamble and I suck at that I might as well hand them my money at the door. 86fierose-v6 its good to see people like you on her willing to help out this is what makes these kinda web sights great even if the people dont fix there vehicle and take it somewhere at least they come here and get a little education about the problem and kinda know what to expect from the shop

I feel you bro'. It breaks my heart to see the let down some people go through when they hear the estimate. What really torques my jaws is that nearly 15% of the estimate is being generated by useless rules and regulations and environmental nitwittery. Was reading the latest issue of Motor today during lunch and saw where CA is mandating tire pressure checks by all tech's on every car/truck/mule they touch, and they must note it on the service order. The reason, you ask? Some rocket scientist figured that all the underinflated driving was causing an unacceptable increase in greenhouse gas emissions. Now, you and I know that idea don't hold water, but what's a reasonable person to do in the face of such stupidity? Keep on keepin' on, man.
