will the clutch hydraulics and shifter off of a 4 speed manual from a fiero work on the F40?

its all a question of cable throw. you wouldnt know till you hooked it up. it would be easy to mount the G6 shifter assembally

no it won't work. the F40 uses an internal style slave/throwout assembly. you'd be better off swapping to the G6 master cylinder and using the stock F40 hydraulic setup if you're going that route.

/\ he's right, how ever i think the shifter assemablly does work from a 03+ cavi, but of course you will have to modify the **** out of it.

So far my solution to the F40 needs have been solved towards the end of my thread. The G6 flywheel should be fine up to about 300 lb/ft but above that it may start to slip because it is torque limited. I have a G6 flywheel and pressure plate for sale for anyone interested since I don't need it anymore, both parts are in good condition.

You should be able to find valuable info here

Actually it is a modified 85 and up 4 speed Fiero shifter along with two selector cables (which have the smaller ball socket cup for the selector) and a custom bracket mount that is used for the linkage. The Getrag selector cable is longer if you need the extra length to say clear twin turbo exhaust plumbing. The Fiero mastercylinder is also used, the transmission end of the hydraulic line just needs to be adapted to fit the line at the F40 which any reputable hydraulic shop should have proper adaptor fittings for. The internal hydraulic throwout bearing itself isn't fussy about what it's connected to as long as there is enough volume to disengage the clutch. Just make sure you don't over extend it.

Disregard, I see this is for a wrong wheel drive car (FWD), however the process should be similar except the Fiero shifter would have the cables exiting aft instead of forward so it would not work.
