  • S10 Trannies

I just picked up a 99 S10 4 Cylinder 5 speed, couple questions, do they use the same trannie/bellhouseing for the V6 and I4? Because I know I'm going to end up getting bored with this thing in the future, and I'll want to swap something more fun into it after gas prices go down again.

I believe the bellhousing may be the same as FWD 60v6s. So ya could easily do a 3400 truck or a 3.4 TDC truck.

I figured they'd probally be the same, but you never know, I think i'd lean towards a 3.4tdc just to be super cool

Not that this adds anything, but the 2.8 and the 4 cyl had the same bellhouse bolt pattern but the 4.3 has a different bellhouse patten (sbc). Your truck is new enough to not get into this, but 94 and 95 bellhousing to transmission bolt patten on 4 cyl is the ford pattern on the Borg Warner Transmission. In 96 they went to New Venture, and for that, I have no idea. I guess the point I'm trying to make be careful.
