  • 4t60e 95 to 97 swap

I saw an earlier thread stating the diff between OBD1 and OBD2 trans sensors. Is the mount for the sensors the same?

Does everything else unplug/plug straight in?

All the bolts and trans mounts line up?

    Any other differences between them?

Is there some repository of trans info that I just havent been able to find? I just don't seem to be getting real answers when doing web searches.

    Thanks for all your help.

The units will all bolt up. I would suggest finding a wiring diagram, that will pretty much answer all of your electrical questions.
Bottom line, if you are going to 4T65-E, you will have issues controlling it. 4T60-E's are pretty simiilar.

I've put 99 transmissions in 95 cars... The only thing you need to pay attention to is the design of the side case, structural or not, and also the amount of teeth on the tone ring for the differential. I know 95 Beretta's were a 29 tooth, and the 99 Buick's I was using ended up being a 30 tooth, so to keep the speedo right I just pulled the ring and installed the 29 tooth one. Other than that NOTHING else had to be done to make it work.

Well it worked. The transmission and all electrical connectors save 1 went together without any major hitches. I did transplant the shift selection switch assembly from the old to new as well as the vacuum modulator.

        Thanks for the replies
