I've got a 94 Grand Prix GT 3.4L DOHC with a 4T60E that recently died. Won't shift out of first or go into reverse and reverse makes rattling noises Car is mostly stock performance-wise and will stay within 10-15% of stock rating while I own it.
I have a 4T65E-HD with 100k lying around and I wonder if I should put it in. Has anyone actually successfully done that before? I am worried not about making it fit, but about properly controlling the tranny. I read that ZZP is working on a tranny computer, but who knows when that will be done.
I'm looking for some advice from yall about what I should do. Rebuilding the 4T60E is too difficult for me to do myself and I don't know anyone in my area of Blacksburg, VA who has a good reputation for tranny work.
Should I put the 4T65E-HD in? Should I find a junker with a 4t60e and hope its tranny is good? Should I suck it up and buy a reman?
Please advise!
Thanks,
Jad
