no ive got nothing on em. they never gave me anything written about the warranty until i asked. 4000 miles after i bought the car. they said that after 3000 miles the warranty is null and void because i didnt do the services needed to fulfill my part of the written agreement. its all legal bullshit. i cant prove they never gave me the paperwork because its just some bullshit booklet and they wont warranty shit because i didnt do an oil change with them. now its 21k later or so and theres no way theyre warrantying anything. so im shit outta luck. so now its up to me to fix this trans. which is why im asking for info from you fine people

Well it is not unheard of; the servo piston can crack and cause fluid to blow by.

I would still try to find some sort of way to take legal action. That's still a fairly new vehicle, and just because you didn't do an oil change with them is just a plain retarded reason to deny warranty service. I would also make a claim with the BBB, call your local chamber of commerce and file a complaint, and do anything else you can do to show them you haven't forgotten it- not to mention get the word out about how they don't honor their own warranty. That's just stupid.

EDIT: That sucks... I just looked it up. 04 Monte only had a 36k mile warranty from the factory, GM had not bumped it up to 100k yet... I hate places like that... Where are you from, and what dealer is it?

In the back of the owners manual there should be a phone number for the area zone office for Chevrolet. If not, you can go to any GM dealer and get the phone number for the area/zone office. You can also ask the dealer for a phone number for the GM rep, or give them a number where you can be called by him. If you explain the deal to the rep, they may be willing to help you with the repair. It's federal law that a dealer can NOT require you to perform services with the dealer to keep a repair warrenty, and you should have a statement in your owners manual. There's bulletins on the PCS, so you have some chance of getting help from the rep. D

Rendezvous Transmission Bangs into 1st gear

Joelfke - Were you able to determine the problem "when you come off a stop and the motor revs a bit and the car doesnt move much then bangs into gear with a jolt?" My 2003 Rendezvous has been doing the same thing when the transmission is cold. I changed the fluid 25K miles ago with Mobil 1 synthetic and the fluid is full and not burnt. My Rendezvous has the "tow package" with 99,800 miles.

              Thank you - Doc Doug

yes. It ended up being the Pressure Control Solenoid. I pulled the trans and reclutched it along with a hardened spline 4th clutch shaft (ive heard of issues with the stock ones) and new axle seals as they were leaking. a bad PCS will NOT set the check engine light, get your car scanned for trans codes
