See how it reacts in manual 1st or 2nd gear. If it operates normal then I would venture to say its a soleniod issue as the manual select mechanically sends higher nominal pressure throughout the transmision. If it doesnt react then their is an issue with the pump/ pump shaft. This is all providing your fluid level is normal and that your filter is not obstructed.

i always wondered if the newer trannies did that as well... i know on the 4T60E, the line pressure triples(or close to it IIRC) just from droping the shifter from 2 to 1...

Well the gear box on my Monte reacts the same way as it augments the PC soleniod. The manual select still mechanically redirects for higher pressure.

worst case scenario if i were to rip it apart could i get away with just putting in a EPC ohming the other solenoids to make sure theyre ok and reclutching the trans?? or would i have to put new seals in too? im not familiar with how to put in seals

i put it in manual 2 at a light and when i took off it still had delayed engagement. i do not floor it off a light or anything like that just a normal accel. i did feel much better and the bang into gear wasnt as bad, but it was still there.

Its only about double going from D2 to D1, but at the same time the pressures are backwards when there is no vac applied. At 1250rpm in P, R, N its 74-95@18in of vac, in D4 D3 D2 @1250rpm its 74-95 @18in vac again.... now in D1 it jumps to 158-170. But take away vac and the pressures now look like this. P, R, N 255-305@0in D4, D3, D2 165-205@0in, and D1 165-205@0in. Odd...

But I think rather than continuing driving this car and letting it "bang" into gear, you might want to replace and fix the part that is throwing the code... otherwise you will cause more damage you maybe can't fix so easily and cheap.

You drove 26k miles with that code and that condition?

Why do people do this? It's not normal so why on earth would you keep driving it.

because ive been fighting with the dealer i bought it from to warranty it but their lifetime powertrain warranty is bullshit. I dont have the means to replace the PCS in my driveway and i dont have 1000 to waste on someone at a shop doing it.

Well it is nice that it had an effect but bad that it wasn't enough...One other tid bit, the forward servo might be damaged. It is the protrusion on the back side of the transmission. That protrusion is a cover that is held by 3 8mm screws. I you will not have enough room to get at it unless you drop the frame at least. If you get under the car you can see it.

Did you contact your states department of consumer affairs? If the warranty is written from out of state you can call the FBI as well as possibly the Postmaster General.

If you ain't rock and roll, you must be driving a Honda
