Dude... it was buried. This thread was 2 years old before you bumped it. LOL

And as far as being helpful... the whole thread was all hand wringing and gnashing of teeth about swapping in a manual transmission with OBDII like it's voodoo or something.

The F23 from a 00-02 J-body with a 2200 pushrod motor will bolt to any 60* engine. As well as use stock manual transmission axles from a manual Ecotec N-body. The shifter assembly and cables from the Ecotec cars will also be needed. The rear trans mount shouldn't need anything more than drilling and tapping a few holes, if anything. The front mount may be a different story as the Ecotec bellhousing for the F23 has different bolt bosses than the Metric one. You'd have to research that more.

Getting an OBDII PCM reprogrammed isn't that big of a deal anymore.

At least it isn't a Fiero where you have to figure out how to make it shift backwards...

Yeah. I was reading that at work and it seemed like the bible. Lol. But once I got home and started reading more I realized it got me nowhere because the link to that guys parts list doesn't work anymore. Thanks for summing it all up for me though. I am a welder by trade and fabricator when I want to so mounts and whatnot will not be an issue. I am going to start gathering parts ASAP. Till I found this place I had never heard of a 5speed being put in a malibu. Still seems awesome to me
