Just wondering what recommendations you suggest for a better performing 700R4?. It's from a 1986 Chevy S10 Blazer 4x4, what would you do?. Just looking to see what mods should be done and what should be avoided. I believe the corvette servos are recommended as well as synthetic fluid and maybe a deep sump pan or at least an OEM replacement with cooling fins. Thanks!. Late.

Mine was rebuilt using heavier duty v8 parts where they could. The guys even done some work on it to firm up the shifts without having to put a shift kit in it. Wish I could tell you more but I let the pros handle my autos and this shop specializes in late model chevy trans.

Summit cast aluminum deep sump pan with a temp gauge to keep an eye on it I installed.

      Sorry, here goes...

I heard about using V8 parts, but, I recall seeing swapping the V8 parts into my original 60 degree transmission case, also I think I can use corvette servos, and recall seeing somewhere on the web that I can use a modulator from a V8 caprice with the police package. Then I hear that the best shift kit is from transgo.....there's too much info out there, it's frustrating!!.

Yeah, I believe it was 87 and later trans which were upgraded, maybe i'll just look for one of those the next time I head to the junkyard and work with that. I mean upgrades are already on there from GM and no need for any hi performance mods, just some to increase trans life and keep it running as cool as possible for maximum trans life. Thanks for the reply, though!!.
