  • Question : GM Tranny id & swap info

Got a 98' lumina 4T60E AHW (3.1L)-goes until it gets warm (couple miles).
May have access to a 4T60E from a 98' Venture (3.4L) w/either YAW or DKW code. What are the code differences? I'm finding nothing. Are these two compatible to swap? Looking to go cheap or nothing. 275K on rest of car.

not sure about mounting and i'm not seeing a YAW made in 1998. this chart may help.

EDIT: WOW, i'm blind, YAW is actually in the chart.

The side covers are normaly steel on the vans. so you will have to switch the side covers. The steel covers usually have studs around the left axle that will cause problems when switching to an aluminum cover. The studs will have to be removed and the holes filled or cut off flush very carefully.
