  • 4t60 shift

Hey guys, looking to do some upgrades to my t60, itsin a 2005 monte carlo with the 3.4, i'm wondering if anyone on this site has used shift kits, valve body work, and what programmers to use to tune the trans, i kinda posted this by acident as i havent been on this forum for awhile now, i noticed the sweet feature of picking up old threads related to my title.

Also i forgot about how humorous you guys are as i've read a few of the new threads.

    thanks guys,
    Bob

2005 should be the 4T65E, not the 4T60E.

65E can handle more torque and it's a beefier tranny. Not sure what the other differences is besides torque capacity and being slightly larger physically.

well i've found this kit, but has anyone used it? should i get a programmer before i put in the kit?

i'm still in the midst of finding a 3500 top end, and i plan on getting the motor properly tuned, but i figure i should go after the trans before i burn it up with the way i drive and shift gears. from what i understand:
the shift kit wont have anything to do with the shifting, but limit clutch slipage between gears, and getting a programmer will control the shift patterns, and rpm shifts, am i accurate? is there anything else i may not understand?
