  • berreta 282 mount

i know after 92 transmission mounts changed in some of the 660 five speeds. but im trying to find out how they mounted 282's in berreta's. is it the big upper mount like a z24 or is it the two mounts on the frame (body kinda framish) rail like a 96+ cavalier or nvg for a q4 motor.

what are the options? I might go with the newer style instead of replacing my original on my 88

92- has one big frame mount and a dog bone to the front. and 92+ has 2 mounts to the frame. front and rear. look around on bstuff.com theres some pics there if u dig deep.

You have to weld them to the frame rail of the body, but the 92+ L body mounts are superior. Two opposing mount points instead of one pivot point means less rotation.

However your trans may not accept the mounts. Some have bosses for it but need to be drilled and tapped, others I *think* may not have bosses cast at all..

I can't find pics of the setup- I forgot my login and locked myself out of bstuff. can someone post the pics here? welding isn't an issue and I'd rather have the better setup. I already sturdied up my mounts on the pass side by filling them with poly and I used some metal to help fill some of the gaps for less compression.

so, where did you get your mounts from? salvage yard? I wish I had my Beretta book here to look at. It's a gm parts book that's like a foot thick. I'll grab it from my parents house this weekend. That makes for a much cleaner looking install.

Oh yeah, where does it mount to the trans? got pics of the bosses?

wow, those mounts are expensive too.. 70 and 90 bux for front and rear mounts. How do they old up? am I better off getting used ones and filling them?
