There are bellhousings made that will fit a FWD engine onto a T-5 transmission, some MG conversion places sell them, and I believe it's just a stock 2.2/T5 S10 bellhousing... which has the starter on the opposite side as the RWD 60v6s, just like the FWD V6s.
The mounting bosses are likely different than on a RWD engine as well, but I imagine it's nothing a little work with scrap iron and a welder couldn't overcome.60v6's original Jon M.

This is the one that GM should have done themselves and quite possibly the best use of a V6/60.
I think what you are getting at in part is whether the bolt pattern on the back of the V6/60 is the same for RWD and FWD. The answer is yes. It is also the same as the 2.2L (and possibly the 1.8L and 2.0L) GM pushrod 4 cylinder.
Your bellhousing choice will be dependent upon whether there is a right or left hand starter. In either case, a bellhousing from an S10 is needed.
For the left-hand starter, a bellhousing from a 1994 (or so) 2.2L S10 with a T5 will work. If you have a left-hand starter, the transmission bolt pattern from the 2.2L bellhousing will be the "Ford" pattern and will bolt right up to the Chevette T5 pattern. However, these Chevette T5s are tough to find and are Non World Class (NWC). The other transmission you could try is the 1991-1996 Isuzu Rodeo 2wd 4cyl T5. It uses the "Ford" pattern, is World Class (WC) and the shifter sits about 1.8" back from the stock location.
For a right hand starter, a V6/60 bellhousing from the S10 is needed. For the right-hand starter, the transmission bolt pattern will be typical GM T10 and Camaro V8 T5. The Camaro T5 will put the shifter behind your elbow though. Shifter placement with the T10 is more flexible.
You may have to be flexible about whether you use a cable-operated clutch or a hydraulic. And if you choose hydraulic, figure that part out.
Engine mounts. I'm certain you'll find plenty of ways to mount some kind of stock mount to the stock forward crossmember. That's just a standard engine swapping challenge.
There are lots and lots of V6/V6 chevette sites out there. Here is a Chevette forum that has people who can refer you to lots of resources:

No matter how difficult this swap is for you, remember this: This is a very light car and will go pretty fast when you are done with it. And if the motor is in good shape, you will likely get 25mpg to boot.
If you don't care about mileage but would like to really blow off overweight DOHCs at stoplights, try and find a set of the factory 4.11 gears for it. They're rare. Like the Chevette T5s, they show up on eBay from time to time, but not often.
The best of luck,
