my 93 z-34 has an intermitent tranny problem...sometimes it won't go foward or reverse like it slips real bad and then out on the road it won't shift into high gear. then other times it works just fine. i checked for codes and it gave a 24 and a 34 code.someone on here said they were map sensor and vehicle speed sensor.i'm not familar with the speed sensor code, can someone explain this one and does it sound like something easily fixed or big money? thanks

Sounds like a valve body malfunction, possibly the press solinoid is failed or intermit. I would let a tranny shop look at it and if it needs VB work it can be accessed through the left fender well and does not req the trans be pulled.
Also pull the pan and see whats there..if it is relativly clean and not much clutch material you may be ok and just need VB work. If you find metal or lots of clutch material (large amounts of black gritty grime in the pan) an overhaul is needed.
