I found this on streetfire.net while checking out Dave's 3500 Z run and thought it was a good watch.

Good vid.
One thing he didn't mention was the 4 vs 6 vs solid hubs is the weight. (he kinda went through it quickly) But on our 282 equipped cars, the trannies just plain dont like to "power" shift at 6000+ rpm on a solid hub disk, it's too heavy and the trans don't spool down fast enough. Shifts are MUCH MUCH better with a lighter 4 puc disk. I noticed this right away with my car and was convinced right there than any car I plan on banging gears with I will always go with a 3 or 4 puc clutch.11.92 @ 122 MPH 3400 91 Cavalier Z24 Intercooled S/C. -totalled-

Good to hear some real world feedback that relates to our transmissions/engines. I know with my stock replacement if I get really aggressive with it I can cause it to slip, so before too long if I do too much more to my car I will need a different type of clutch. What sucks for me is I have the 284 with the pull type clutch, but lucky for me, I'm a half hour from a somewhat local clutch place, so when that time comes I plan on heading out there to poke some brains.
