    I distinctively remember Josh (TurboSedan) having posted on the W-body forums that he found a 282 that came out of another car line that did not have anywhere to attach the W-body 282 mount which bolts directly from the cradle to the trans case. No where to even drill for them.

    edit: found his post

    that was when everyone was convinced that V6 Ws had the 3.77 1st gear, so ignore the talk of better ratios etc.

      Hmm, well maybe I am wrong then.

      I've had in my car :

      1992 GTZ beretta trans
      1990 GTZ beretta trans
      1988 Z24 trans
      1991 Z24 trans (stock)
      1992 Beretta V6 trans

      They were all the same and all worked fine, till the diffs blew up that is.... (cept for the '90 GTZ one, that one's in there now.)

        So the 88 and 92 mount up with either style mounts? (Beretta manual mounts changed in 92 to a different style, better for turbo/etc) The W body I think the the only exception.
        Fiero 282 I think even works in the cars you listed Mars.
        sigpic New 2010 project (click image)
        1994 3100 BERETTA. 200,000+ miles
        16.0 1/4 mile when stock. Now ???
        Original L82 Longblock
        with LA1, LX9, LX5 parts
        Manifold-back 2.5" SS Mandrel Exhaust. Hardware is SS too.

          Maybe the changes are only on the bellhousing half of the trans (which I would be changed out)?

          Yeah, but all of those trannies have been in my car.

            Not to hijack but do you need to use a different shift rail for reverse or anything when using the Q4 with the V6 housing? I remember somebody said that somewhere b4. I assumed the rails never changed but I do know the round cover for the reverse rail on the outside of the case changed.

              yes, you'll need to swap over the rail if the Q4 trans is an internal slave version and your bellhousing is external slave.

              it's pretty simple.
              Past Builds;
              1991 Z24, 3500/5 Spd. 275WHP/259WTQ 13.07@108 MPH
              1989 Camaro RS, ITB-3500/700R4. 263WHP/263WTQ 13.52@99.2 MPH
              Current Project;
