mine whines too. i can only hear it in 1st gear at slow speeds. i don't have the HD, but I've been told by Intense Racing that the double to single drive chain conversion will cause that.

Mine whined all the time!!! This constant grating, grinding, annoying, whine.
Then I asked the wife to quit riding in the Achieva and what do you know? The noise went away!

I'm glad she don't read this or there would be hell to pay!

Mine looks just like that but the stripes are black. the adjustment is down inside where the vacuum line plugs on, really small flat blade screw. And 4 turns ain't enough on mine, it felt mushier than my old one, can't bother with it now tho. After the rebuild next spring, ooo wait, nm, if all goes well i'll be in a 4t65e.

Strange, mine 4 turns was nice. I felt it with just 2 as well, but decided to try more.

Mine was red stripe IIRC. I can look after work.

4T65-e doesn't use a modulator for line pressure, it is electronically controlled by the PCM.

you're supposed to have a check valve on that line to prevent damage to the modulator....

Anybody or just boosted? When I took off my vacuum res and removed the T fitting down there i removed the check valve too. I blew through it and it blew both ways so it wasn't checking anything anymore anyway.

Boosted since NA will never see boost at the vacuum port on it, even though yours came with one.

There is a check valve near it going to the vacuum ball. To the modulator there is a thing that looks like one but it just has a metal screen in it. No idea what for.

those aftermarket modulators are universal. what goes inside the tranny are pieces that can come off to accommodate other tranny modulators. you'll have to make sure you have the correct set up for your car.
