You will have to include a re-flashed computer with the kit too. You could keep a few ecu's in stock then use a "core" system.

i'd rather spend the time and money for a 6 speed swap.

you cant use one year for all the 6yrs the 5th gen grand am was around..

i know for a fact that an 01 bin wont work with a 99 car. they must have re-pinned the pcm connectors or changed some things around in the engine harness. one thing i know just from looking is the injector harness is different.

I'd be interested in a kit to mount the 5-speed 282 or even the 6-speed F40. I wouldnt worry to much about the ECM issue yet, I'd say get the components mass produced first and dirrect people to someone known on these forums that can handle the ECM issues. I'm haveing ahellofa time getting mine in right. My first set came out wrong, going a second round here shortly....... I was also looking for the 92 Z24 tranny mount first, the part that bolts to the tranny, no one has em..... Would be nice....

the only problem i've had with 282 swap is finding axles that fit, but i think i'm past that problem now, in reality the ecm was the easiest part of this swap.......
