96-99 Monte, Lumina shift cable location

To all 96-99 floor shift Monte's and Lumina's. I'm installing a floor shifter and console from a 1996 Lumina into my 1997 Monte column shift. Where does the floor shift cable come out into the engine compartment? My Monte column shift cable comes out of the engine compartment on the drivers side just below and right of the power steering modulator.

It comes out the center of the firewal near the exahaust heat shield. You should have a round out ward dent in the fire wall.

That's it alright. I punched a hole thru the dent where you suggested, ran a wire into it and went inside the car and there was the wire.....Thanks for your help....Tom
