I have an '87 ciera with a 2.8 auto, i was considering putting a 3.8 motor and manual trans in it, 1st off will there be a significant change or should i just invest in the 2.8 and 2nd is there a manual trans availabe for a 3.8. thanks

There would be a fair amount of work as the 3.8 is a totally different engine and is not wired the same plus the manual trans would have to be mounted and axles made up for it. BTW as the 3.8/3800 is a totally different engine than what is covered on this site. We only handle the 2.8, 3.1, 3.4, 3.4 TDC and, 3X00 engine familly.

You'll get a lukewarm reception here with that kind of 3.8 talk. Couple of guys on A-body have done 3800 SC swaps, among other things.
