I had the shims in before the trans went. they were ok, but the 1-2 did bang a bit. so i thinned it out a bit. it did have a very fast down shift. i thinned it from 3/8" so around .200". i'll see how it does. the 2-3 i kept the 3/8" thickness. it was perfect. rift was very quick and smooth. couldn't tell it shifted unless you looked at the tach.

The 4th hub makes a good cookie cutter!!

I was looking for the same thing you are. Drilling the 2nd and 3rd clutch apply orifices larger made it shift faster without needing more line pressure. The shift kit and shimming will make it shift faster and firmer without more line pressure. More line pressure will create a faster and firmer shift too. Though, anytime you make a shift event faster, it will be firmer. The question, as always, is how much firmer? You can make things even faster by taking the excess play out of the clutch packs. Quicker yet not firmer. The motion from slipping to full engagement doesn't happen quicker. It just takes less time for the whole process since the extra play is out of the clutch packs.

Is drilling the 2 and 3 orifices part of the transGo kit?

drilling is not part of any kit. it's a standard procedure while rebuilding the 65E. for big HP/TQ, the holes are drilled a little bigger.

95Sleeper...i could show you what i did, but i'm certain your separator plate is different than mine. i'll post a picture anyway. contact Dave at http://www.tripleedgeperformance.com/ he does some work the the 60E too.

i shimmed 3-4 since i was there and if i go over 95 MPH, i'll need a quick 3-4 shift.

I think I have a sheet at home but I'm probably wrong... the 4t60e also has something of that done when using the Trans Go shift correction kit, but I can't remember off the top of my head which holes are drilled... I know one Is plugged, one is oversized and one is made smaller. IIRC, and then there is a new passage that you need to make on the VB and one you need to plug.
