    I assume WCF is selling synchro and not dog-engagement.

    If I was having problems with the gear box I would take a stock one and cryo it. Have any of the Fiero owners done this? The WRX weak link is the gear box and this is what they do. I am sure it could be done for less than a grand.

      Cryo will not help when coupled with the enormous tq fiero guys are wanting to run with big block v8's or 3800SCs...the getrag/muncie has its limits and cannot be used to its full potential with a manual/transverse...
      this is a new tranny...if someone can do it cheaper...well it would have been DONE...that is my take on it, the R&D has been done, still is been researched...but entry level, that priced cannot be beat...trust me!! Look at what the traditional tranny configuration have to spend...well I guess now it is different, however the point is...new technology, R&D cost...period! My point, those with even deeper pockets...who want something different...this is a good choice

        I'd say its a good choice for those that can afford it, but what about the new 6-speed that GM is gonna be putting in the new G6 powered by a 60* 3900. If the bolt pattern is the same and its not made by izusu, you might be able to get one for under $3000 for a new unit. I'm waiting on that. Hopefully it will be built alittle tougher than the older units and handle more power. I've always been told and hear it all the time, "as long as you dont go droppin the clutch at 6000rpm from a stand still, it will survive almost anything you put at it". Shock is the biggest weak link in every transmission, anyones tranny...

            I'd assume. No one that I know of has a clue to what the ratio's are as of yet. Hell its probably still a rumor and GM probably wont live up to it, but if they do, I'm sure some one will try and find out..... If the DOHC is all high sprung, then it probably wont be any good unless you can change the diff. gears.

              The rumors I heard is the G6 is getting the 6spd from the Saab 9-3 series. They got a turbo Ecotech putting out more power then the DOHC does stock, so the transmission is at least an option. For gearing we shall see but I am willing to bet that it will be close enough, the 3x00 series is really not a high winder but it is much more so then the Gen2's were.
