I see. Understanding it better now. Will I be able to select the sequencing of the solenoids? I don;t think the 4T60 and the 4T40 have the same sequence. i.e: the 4T60 is on/on, off/on, off/off, on/off (1-2-3-4, sol a/sol b) the 4T40 is:

    1 ON/OFF, 2 OFF/OFF, 3 OFF/ON, 4 ON/ON, P-R-N ON/OFF

So you see, in planning, do I need to wire it this way or will you have to build it this way? The 4T80 is the exact same as the 4T40, so i will need them both wired/and or built the same.

I hope to incorporate your two shifters into one ratchet shifter So when I put it in D4, it's in 4th gear, D3-3rd, 2-2nd, and 1-1st. I will have to ratchet it all the way back to start in 1st, then ratchet it up to upshift. Depending how your microswitches energize the controller, I might be able to use the PRNDL switch outputs, there is one for each gear position! SO I might not have to rig a shifter at all, just use the stock PRNDL switch on top of the trans.

Nah, the PRNDL is some kind of logic switch, not a straight output for each gear range. I just looked it up on GM SI (benefit of working at a GM dealer! LOL!) It looks like the shifter will have to handle the business of controlling the controller.

I would use the ratchet shifter and leave the stock wiring from the gear selector switch connected as-is. That switch gives you backup lights and tells the ECM if your P N or D. it also provides the starter lockout when in anything but P or N.
The ON/OFF sequence is in the programming itself and is easy for me to change it,we just need to be certain before I ship it to you, because it takes special software and a special interface to connect to and program the micro-controller. So if its not right the first time then you would have to send it back to me for reprogramming and testing on my bench. There is no way you could do it on site.
