Ok, I have part numbers... plus they were in my book but I wanted to verify they were the same as the GM numbers. This is for the First design accumulator setup pictured in the other post. Some models came with different springs too so this is specific to a 6WFW transmission.

        2-3 Inner: 8677661
        2-3 Outer: 8668487

        3-4 Inner: 8651596
3-4 Outer: Stuck in customs from Canada... I'll have that tomorrow.

        Now the other one is
        1-2 Outer: 8682513 < softer than 2-3 outer, I tested it.

Once you get me your number I can tell you the P/N's of the springs that are in your setup.

I have another tip for you Replace you lower engine mount with a solid rubber mount, then obtain a 3.4 TDC rear engine mount , bracket ,and . You install these you'll REALY firm up the powertrain and eliminate most of the wheel hop...If you have any....I know I have it....

I did this on my old 3400.

well my trans is almost done... I didnt shim the accumulators now, i may wait till after I do my first oil change, which will be rather soon after I drive it a few miles...

I forget how heavy those friken things get when you put stuff in the case!

How heavy are they? Also how do you remove/install them? I mean I take it you use a jack and wood under neath it, but the pan as you know is flimsy as a pie pan, surely you can't support it by that, so how ?

I used just a board on a jack and it went across the pan... I'll tell you removing one is a delicate process if you plan on leaving the motor in... Not the easiest and well yeah they are friken heavy... I'm not sure exactly how much they weigh... DRY not too bad, but if there is any oil in it... FORGET IT! LOL

Hmm, yeah good point about draining it first. I guess the board all the way across it would work. My pan already has a big dent in the center, LOL. No leaks though. I suppose the drivers subframe would have to come out, but the passenger one could stay? I knew all these bench presses would come in handy some day. haha

yeah just drivers side has to come out, but with the sway bar attached its almost easier to just drop the whole subframe assy and get it out of the way completely.

I can lift a dry trans from the ground up to a bench so its not WICKED heavy... and I don't bench... but I do a lot of physical labor on the race car and my car so I stay in shape that way.

Hmm, it's gotta weigh more than a truck rear end I'd think? When you say dry, does that mean just drained but still has the fluid in the converter/etc?

How do you raise your car up enough to drop it from the bottom? Super tall jack stands?

not really... Jack stands most of the way up clears ok going out the drivers wheel well, and yeah dry i mean with NO converter and no fluid, like freshly built no fluid, because alot stays in the pump and VB and so on... damn converter is heavy full of oil.
