Happen to remember which wire you moved where? It sounds like it might be an elec issue, at least worth a second look before you yank it back out.

Zboy- That is exactly what I am afraid of. The transmission is a 1994 with around 90k but I would have to go to the jumkyard where I tossed the car and check that mileage to be sure.
Brian- Here is what I have:
A=Shift Solenoid A
B=Shift Solenoid B
C=TCC/CC (B+); PMW(-)
D=TCC/VCC Apply (-)
E=Solenoid B+
F=Low Discrete; Temp Sw. (My cars wiring doesn't have this wire)
G=4th Discrete; Temp Sw.1992 Pontiac Bonneville

cone filter intake

dual outlet dynomax exhaust

I don't think the problem is in the electronics here. When the 4t60 slips past 2nd gear, there is definitely clutch problems. electrical problems may have been at fault early on, now it's clutch/ band damage thats causing the slipping. especially since since there is no power, excessive engine rpm, and dark burnt fluid I would suspect the trans is in need of a rebuild. As for problems with the 4t60, the trans just suffers from typical GM stupidity, worthless internal parts made of plastic, clutch discs made to thin, etc.If it\'s fun, it\'s probably illegal and if it\'s illegal I\'m probably doing it.

zboy-ok but my concern is now that I swapped a transmission that I am 99% sure was good and it immediatly went to crap is that if I purchase a rebuilt one an existing electrical problem will screw up yet another tranny.
