    Can the P/N switch on the trans cause it to skip 3rd gear everytime? My trans i just installed has decided it doesnt want to use 3rd and I know that switch has something wrong with it. I dont really want to change it unless i have to because its gonna be a bitch to do

    Err. wait never mind you are OBDII. I was going to send you my definition file to log with it will show you what gear the gear selector is set in.

      when i put the trans in it was working so i dunno..DHP shows that the ECU is commanding 3rd and thinks its in 3rd but it just skips over it when it reachs the right MPH

        3rd gear has both soleniods off. If you disconnect the transmission connector you will have 3rd gear by default. You can see based on the tach and all if you mechnically do have 3rd, that way you''ll know it is a sensor problem and not mechanical. Dont worry this is just a test and there will be no compromise to the transmission as long as you go easy on it.

          so if i unplug the plug on the front it should default to 3rd? if it does that means both soleniods are off? so i would need to replace them correct or look for a bad wire?

          Also wouldnt the soleniods not working right cause a code? only code i have is for the P/N switch which im going to replace soon

          all I know that if i put the car in low, let it rev up in 2nd, put it in D it should go to 3rd but doesnt but when i put it in OD it goes straight for 4th.

            guess i answered my own question..i pulled the plug and the car went into 3rd so i guess i get to change the soleniods..o joy
