  • How many need 284 Rebuild parts????

    Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to get an idea how many people would be in need of any parts for the Getrag 284 in the event that I decided to look into getting what parts I can reproduced.

    Regards,

        I forgot,

List the parts that ARE needed, so I can get an idea which are the most needed by everyone.

        Thanks

i am having a bearing issue right now. after the tranny heats up, there will be chatter in the tranny and if i push the clutch in it goes away.

i definately want rebuild parts. as long as the price is within reason, it isn't an issue for me. the price doesn't affect the fact that I still NEED 284 parts. do what you have to do, the bearing will last for a while. price me for a whole kit.

Are you talking the shaft bearings/pilot bearings in the tranny or do you mean your throwout bearing?

I would take anything you have made for them. I have 3 of them trannys and only 2 of them work. One of them has no 2ed Gear.

not sure onthe bearings, all i know is that it isn't a t/o bearing. it is one inside the tranny.

that's right, get to cracking. We are going to put you in the shop, lock all the doors and will not let you come out until you have parts.

I may have intermediate shaft bearings going out. Nothing else can explain the tranny leak I get.
I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.

i have the same rattle as dohcfriend. but my first gear is bent i think as well. i think it's the imput shaft bearing that is rattleing to be honest. i dont know but i would like the hole shebang. a hole rebuild kit is what i need. it would be sweet if rebuilds are back on the market.

                              I'd like a trans mount.
