I had a tranny cooler line leak on my monte...changed the lines and added 2.5 qts of fluid.
About 500 KM after this I started to get a 'chattering' or 'shuddering' from teh tranny. it felt like it was trying to downshift into 1st but not quite getting it. The last couple days instead of the chattering thing on decelleration it's missing first completely, slipping or going 'neutral' for a couple seconds and then thunking into gear.
I have now had a chance to further check 'symptoms.'
1) When decellarating through 25km/hr or 15 mph the tranny downshifts but does not immediately attempt to engage in a gear.
2) About 2 sec's delayed it will attempt to engage in gear regardless of speed. Ie, i can creep to a stop and it will attempt to hit the gear or I can slam on the brakes and it will attempt to hit the gear, still about 2 secs after downshifting
3) If I decelerate slowly and my speed is still close to 25kph, it will often attempt to hit hte gear, but disengage until I'm going slower, say 20kph or so.
4) It stopped doing this on my way to work this morning and shifted normally.
5) there were no upshift issues or downshift issues at WOT when accelerating. Although I don't know about super aggressive as I don't generallly drive that way.
Any thoughts on how ot trouble shoot this. Oh ya, last night it threw a light. Don't know what hte code is at this time.
