after emailing 3 days ago and leaving a phone message yesterday, i'm getting fed up of waiting for my LSD and might just go ahead with a FDR of 3.29 for now and get my car back. i can throw the LSD in later.

Shouldn't you be able to use beretta 4t60-e axles on it. I think they have the same wheel spacing with the same hub spine size.
You can hop up a 4t60-e or 4t60 using the 4t65-e parts. You can prob use the 4t65-e HD differential/cover on the 4t60-e for even more strenth.
You can use the 2003+ 4t65-e diode sprag and clutch assymbly with Raybestos Z-pack and some blueplates to make it bullet proof. I think GM has the racing input shaft and oil pump shaft that takes a real beating.
I'm going to build a 4t60-e using this method since the 4t65-e has the electrical connector right where my turbo sits on my TGP and my beretta. Not to mention it already has the stong single chain.
I still need to investigate how much better the V8 4t65-e HD planetary gears are and they are worth it.88 Beretta GTU turbo . 90 Black ASC/McLaren TGP, awaiting 4t80. 2003 Grand AM se 3400/4t45 daily grind.

i've been waiting for 7 weeks now and still haven't heard from him after me trying 3 times so far.
won't know for sure about the beretta axles untill the tranny gets fitted in. they need to be a few inches shorter.
if you use the 65E-HD cover, you'll have to use the HD differential--it's bigger. for my current application, the stock tranny with my upgrades is bullet proof.Andy

how's it going ? is it in ? do you have pics of the swap i was thinking over the holidays and i am going to do the same swap for next year and just want a heads up on what i am going to have to change and mod. and the problems i am going to face you did the 4t60e right ? i think i may go 4t65e or 4t65e hd if i can find one they are 4spd with lock up for 2nd,3rd,4th right ?01 olds shilluette 3400/4T65-E stock for now

4t65e, no, not in yet. lock up depends on what you program. haven't had time with the holidays. had a woodworking project to do for x-mas instead. can't promise pix on everything. have an $800 camera that the wife is fond of, so she may not let me use it in the garage with my greasy fingers.
4t65e-HD i didn't go with since you will have to use the bigger CV shafts (splines). you'll have to change out the hub bearings and such. no need to mess with that. build a 4T60E right and it will hold a lot of power--let alone a 65E. i would stay away from a HD. I don't plan on going much over 300 HP/TQ at the crank. too hard to control on the street. that's when i ever get there. i will get there eventually.Andy

yeah i was thinking more 4 when i am at the track with 65-E hd because right now i only have a wet shot nos system(50-125) but i am upgrading to a direct port injection system down the road (150-300) maybe if i deside to make a full drag car with it !
but yeah it 's hard to control high hp fwd cars on the street so thats why i am staying with a mild 200 hp motor fro street and nos for the track01 olds shilluette 3400/4T65-E stock for now

have a little forward progress. found out the side cover has an impact crack, and the 4th clutch hub shaft splines are about gone. looks like things will have more progress this week.

finally getting somewhere! the parts for the tranny have come in and they just might get put in and the tranny bolted together this weekendish. mon. or tue, the mock 65E case will be removed and the real tranny should get bolted in. a tentative time line, but at least plans are out and progress will be made this week anyway. haven't heard anything from EP about the LSD. the owner of MP racing said that EP has the parts and are being made or have been shipped already by now. HA! we'll see.. this thinking of i'll get to have my car this week, oops nooo.... if nothing by tue. i'll request my refund as noted in my last PM to him. hard to get excited at the moment. it's happened a few times and i've had to wait a couple more weeks. wish me luck!Last edited by torq455; 02-01-2008, 10:10 PM.Andy
