With all this talk of up adding more horsepower to the pushrod engines, what about the durability of the transaxles? I know I would love to increase my 92 Lumina with 3100 series v6 to 225 or more horsepower, but the transaxle scares me. Is this really an issue, and if so, what torgue and horsepower will make this thing "snap?" I'd like to hear what some of your experiences have been.

Well, the trans in our cars can usually hold not much more than 250 hp I would say, but making a 3.1 with 225 would be hard, so I would convert your car to a stick, and do some kind of engine swap to get some more power.
