i finnaly got my diff back from engeneered performance, got it all shimmed and had the bellhousing on test fitting and noticed it was stuck in reverse, wasnt able to shift it. after about 1/2 hour i figured out the reverse idler shift rail is too long.
what i finnaly figured out was that the quad 4 bellhousing with the internal slave has the reverse shift rail pocket protruding into the bellhousing about 3/4", were the 90 v6 bellhousing im using has a very shallow pocket and a plastic peice inside the tranny. luckily i have a complete 89 tranny and am able to grab the reverse idler rail out of that one, and i managed to get it out without completly dissassenbling the tranny again.
has anyone ran into this before??? from everything i have read all you had to do was shim the diff, input and counter shafts and bolt the v6 bellhousing on. ill post some pics later of the 2 shafts side by side to show the difference.
