  • tranny rebuilders messed up

so i ended up paying a shop to rebuild my tranny. i pulled it out, split the case and took it to em. i spent $1060. not including my LSD. its worth it to me to have a nice tranny. when i was puttin it in it noticed that my shift arms were backwards... no biggie i guess, easy mistake...

but today i go to put in my intermediat shaft, which is the last thing to do... IT DOESNT FIT! so now my lifetime warrenty axle wont fit.. and i AM racing it on saterday and sunday

im waiting for a phone call back from the tranny shop, should i tell them to tow the car there, pull the tranny, fix it, put it back in and i will pick it up. or just to buy a lifetime warrenty axle with out the intermediat shaft? i kinda like my inermediat shaft though, makes swapin axles easy. whis is a stronger design? does it make a difference?

how is the intermediate shaft not fitting??? does it not slide into the diff??? the intermediate shaft has to be lined up pretty much perfect to slide in. another thing is that if you supplied the diff and the shaft doesnt slide into it, its not their fault. are you sure your not actualy fighting the engine mount bracket trying to put it in??? i know on my car its a fight to get it in because of the engine mount bracket.

the axle seal was in the way, i ended up calling them back and they told me to just pop the axle seal out.

thank god i didnt have to take it back to them! i just want to drive my car!!

im guessing you have the aluminum axle tube and shaft. its rare to see that and id never asume that anything had it, im sure the tranny builder didnt even think about that, thats why he put the seal in.
